influence |ˈinfloŏəns|
noun: the capacity to have an effect on the character, development, or behavior of someone or something, or the effect itself.

As the world reminds us that today is Father’s Day, we should all take a moment to reflect on how our Father’s role has influenced our lives. The circumstances surrounding the influence are bound to be as different as day and night but the truth is, the influence is just the same. Both positive and negative experiences from parents, especially Father’s, provides a framework upon which a child understands and views the world. It’s not so much about the experiences themselves, but how we interpret them and apply the lessons to our own lives. Good, Bad, Beautiful or Horrid, there is always something to be learned. By having a proper perspective that the early years of our lives shapes how we think and feel today, will only allow us to make better decisions and choices in the now.

Also, sparked from a stimulating conversation with great friends last night, it’s so important to understand that we have influence over the other characters in our Story. Allow today’s reminder of Father’s to stimulate thoughts on how you are influencing other people in your daily life. What you do matters…make it count.
